Account Coordinator: Issue Advocacy - NYC or DC

BerlinRosen, a leading strategic communications firm, is seeking an Account Coordinator on our Issue Advocacy team in New York City or Washington D.C. to help clients meet a wide range of campaign and communications goals in a changing media environment.

Prior internship or work experience in PR/PA, media relations, journalism, or related field is expected.

This position provides candidates with a unique opportunity to join a talented and growing team. Our national issue advocacy team works with major progressive organizations on some of the most high-profile issues of our time.  BerlinRosen's current and recent clients are at the forefront of progressive work around low-wage worker advocacy, women's issues, voting rights, the environment, affordable housing, human rights, LGBT issues, healthcare, education, money in politics and ending mass incarceration.

Applicants should possess:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Internships or work experience in a PR/PA environment
  • Strong news sense and knowledge of the media
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with a team to meet group objectives
  • Experience in a communications-related field
  • Familiarity with social media
  • Familiarity with and interest in local, state, and national politics and a commitment and passion for progressive politics
  • A positive, "can do" attitude! 
  • A sense of humor!
