About the role: 

The Creative Finance Coordinator (Contract) will work closely with the Campaign & Creative Services division and assist in all general areas of accounting and operations.  You will be responsible for billing processes, payroll processing, AP, AR, reconciliations, and you will assist in month-end closings and operations analysis. This position provides a unique opportunity to learn about the complete financial management and operations of a client service organization.

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of both financial and cost accounting, and vendor management. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment requiring meticulous attention to detail and meet tight deadlines. Applicant must be organized, able to work independently on multiple projects and exercise independent judgment and complete discretion.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the billing processes for both monthly/project fees and project expenses
  • Actively managing receivables on various payment schedules, including sending reminders and follow-ups; escalating aged receivables to appropriate project managers
  • Recording expense transactions and allocating to proper projects/cost centers; processing vendor payments and maintaining accurate and organized records
  • Preparing and maintaining client contracts and renewals, including initial client set-up in accounting and time tracking systems; keeping abreast of received agreements and termination dates, communicating with project managers as necessary
  • Reviewing vendor invoices to ensure they are accurate. 
  • Completing documentation required to pay contractors
  • Allocating expenses to specific projects. 
  • Electronic filing of essential documents. 

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience plus internships in an agency or similar environment with exposure to AR/AP processes
  • Minimum of a degree or equivalent professional training in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel experience (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, MACROS, conditional statements, etc)
  • Strong time management and project management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Basic understanding of the economics of service industry and project costing
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of humor!
