The Digital Advocacy Team works with labor unions, civil rights and racial equity groups focused on the intersection of racial and economic justice. We use the power of the internet to help our clients improve the lives of working people, raise wages, address inequality in our economy and political system and hold some of the country’s largest corporations accountable to workers and communities. 


We are seeking a strategic, talented and committed leader to serve as our Digital Account Director – Labor & Economy .  This position provides a unique opportunity to play a leadership role on a smart and motivated team working with major national progressive organizations on some of the highest-profile issues of our time.  

A successful candidate will be passionate about progressive social change and know how to drive digital platforms to help advance the cause.  You are a strong digital tactician who can think strategically and analytically and serve as the trusted voice for our clients. You enjoy leading, teaching, motivating and mentoring junior staff.  

Job responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the development and execution of integrated campaigns that leverage digital tactics to reach key audiences and achieve client goals

• Managing projects, budgets and timelines  

• Guiding team in content creation and management of clients’ online channels, including writing and editing persuasive online content

• Driving content creation and management for clients’ online channels, including writing and editing persuasive online content for social media, email, video, and SMS

• Development of advertising campaigns and targeting for client

• Metric reporting-back to clients on advertising, social media, and other digital campaigns

• Working across account teams to bring digital engagement best practices to a diverse array of clients

• Conducting audits and producing reports of clients’ online work; analyzing results and metrics


Applicants should possess:

• 5 years of project and/or client management experience in digital marketing, communications, advocacy, organizing and/or campaigning

• Excellent written communication skills, including extensive experience developing sharp, compelling online content requiring minimal editing

• Experience with brand-management, or in an electoral, issue-based or other fast-paced campaign environments

• Expertise in online and social media analytics—knowledge of which numbers matter most under different circumstances

• Familiarity and comfort with interdisciplinary work, where digital engagement is integrated with earned and traditional paid media; and the facility to work well with staff and clients that are less digitally-savvy

• Experience managing a team, including understanding how to help junior colleagues develop and grow  

• A deep level of personal commitment to and knowledge of social justice, particularly racial and economic justice in the United States

• A passion for the power of online engagement and social media to advance progressive social change

• Low ego, a patient, and compassionate disposition, with a desire to work collaboratively with both junior and senior colleagues and clients

• A sense of humor!
