Account Supervisor

 

 BerlinRosen, a leading strategic communications firm, is seeking an Account Supervisor to support our work with New York’s leading institutions and changemakers, including helping them meet a wide range of campaign and communications goals in a changing media environment, and creatively and doggedly conceiving and placing stories that are often overlooked or underreported.

We’re looking for a great strategist, writer and publicist with 3-5 years of experience in strategic communications, journalism, campaigns, non-profits or labor/community organizing. 

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to strategize with clients, manage up and down, maintain a laser-like focus on our clients’ goals, and write and pitch persuasively and with impact.  It’s an exciting opportunity to join a nationally recognized team of strategic communicators who are committed to elevating the innovative, life-changing work of New York’s most important social purpose organizations.

Applicants should possess:

  • 3-5 years of experience in media relations; communications experience in a non-profit or advocacy campaign environment a plus
  • A proven ability to identify, conceive, and place compelling feature stories in top-tier outlets
  • Excellent written communications skills, including experience developing sharp, compelling press materials, pitches, and talking points
  • Excellent oral communication skills; including experience interfacing with clients and members of the media
  • Strong news sense and knowledge of the media, in New York and nationally, with pre-existing relationships a plus
  • Experience managing interns or junior staff members
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with a team to meet group objectives
  • Familiarity with and interest in local, state, and national politics and a commitment and passion for progressive politics a plus
  • A sense of humor!
